The Memory of Paris

Paris again??? Yes. I know that this topic seems to be too old to talk about any more. You must have known or heard a lot about it. Even if this is the case, I still want to share My experiences and feelings with you. Why? As I was strongly impressed by its magical charm. Visiting Paris was one of my dreams when I was a little girl. Finally, I got the chance to fulfil this dream. It would be a pitty that being in Europe without visiting Paris, right? So I decided to go, though my plan was only a seven-day trip.

Before I went to Paris, I have been told by many people that it is not a hospitable city-- especially to those English-speaking people. But anyway, I was ready enough to face any cold treatment at that time. First arrival in Paris, I was really hesitate in asking for direction until I discovered Parisians' friendliness and hospitality. The little French boys in the hostel I lived always came to "chat" with me. What I mean by CHAT is using gestures, as they know really very little English. However, I miss our conversation now. Also, once a French lady even acompanied me to the train station! Maybe I was just lucky to meet these friendly French people. Thus the Paris in my mind is a warm city. But I am sure you will feel the same if you go there now, as young Parisians are becoming more and more open to the outside world.

As a great French Writer said, "(Paris) will always remain an undiscovered place, an unknown retreat, flowers, pearls, monsters, something unheard of". If I got chance to go there next time, I would love to discover this magical city in more detail.
